GERARDO LECCESE

YOU’VE seen Gerardo Leccese’s paintings, even if you don’t recognize his name—yet. There’s something familiar, as if you’ve seen these interiors in an upscale magazine or a movie. Think imagery of the Amalfi Coast or Miami, all whimsical bright whites with cheery bursts of blue, pink, green, yellow and red. Bookshelves and furniture are painted into room scenes and add three-dimensional depth.

On his colorful canvases, pop art hangs on the walls and painted surfboards are perched against paneled walls. The effect is intentional. It draws on Italian-born Leccese’s 35-year career practicing in the fields of painting, photography, interior design and architecture.

The multidimensional Mount Pleasant-based artist sells his paintings through shows and by private appointments. He also sells prints of photographs he’s taken all over the world. Pre-pare to travel virtually to Antoni Gaudí’s Barcelona, New York, and Chicago landmarks, and more.
