It all started with a single, tiny starfish embossed in silver ink. The delicate echinoderm was designed by Kristen Guaglianone when she couldn’t find the perfect style for her wedding invitations. Friends and family raved about her creation, and she realized she might be on to something.

Today Guaglianone and her team help couples find their perfect stationery at The Silver Starfish. Based out of a charming studio on King Street, they work one-on-one with clients to create custom designs, and they also thoughtfully curate a selection of stationery from high-quality brands like Spark, Dauphine Press, and b.t. elements.

The Silver Starfish crew begins every project with a consultation in order to assess a client’s unique style and needs. They make every effort to create an unforgettable invitation suite regardless of budget, whether it’s elegant letterpress, smooth thermography, or modern and affordable digital printing. They also create day-of accessories ranging from programs and table cards to menus and favor boxes.

“We want to make the invitation process easy,” Guaglianone says. “I try to be that calm, helpful presence among all of the wedding planning. My goal is to have every customer fall in love with paper, just like I did!”
