SpiritLine Cruises takes weddings to the water

BY ERICA JACKSON CURRAN

The crew behind Charleston’s SpiritLine Cruises doesn’t just call their fleet of yachts event venues; instead, they offer a complete experience. “Where else can you exchange vows with the backdrop of the iconic Arthur Ravenel Bridge?” asks director of sales and marketing Ian Harris. “Where else can you find an elegant banquet area with the ever-changing views of Charleston’s beautiful harbor? Where else can your guests dance the night away under the stars?”

The company offers the complete package when it comes to weddings, including gourmet food prepared by a full culinary staff helmed by executive chef Mason Mullock, who trained at the CIA in New York. “Mason brings a unique, artistic style to his menu creation,” Harris says. “Each event menu is individually created with the client to meet their specific needs and desires.” SpiritLine also offers décor packages and their event planners can assist with hiring entertainment, arranging transportation and can offer referrals for photography, bakeries and ceremony officiants. “We even arrange for personalized wedding and rehearsal favors for your guests,” Harris says. At a recent wedding, the guests received miniature sweetgrass baskets filled with benne wafers.

“Our event planners have more than 20 years combined experience planning events on our boats,” Harris says. “Your wedding or rehearsal dinner guests will never forget an event on the water with SpiritLine.”
